Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has put forth his candidacy for the Rajya Sabha elections, marking a significant move in the political arena. Vaishnaw filed his nomination papers at the Odisha Legislative Assembly, accompanied by key BJP figures and supporters.

Expressing gratitude to his party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vaishnaw stated his commitment to serving Odisha tirelessly. He emphasized his dedication to the state’s development, drawing inspiration from the tale of Lord Ram’s squirrel.

Vaishnaw is vying for a second term in the Upper House and joins two other candidates from the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD). The BJD has announced its support for Vaishnaw’s candidacy, highlighting his role in advancing the state’s railway and telecom sectors.

Despite the BJD’s backing, Vaishnaw’s nomination lacked representation from the party’s members.

Vaishnaw, on a two-day visit to Odisha, reiterated his allegiance to the BJP and credited PM Modi for the opportunity to serve again.
