Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a boost in support for artists through the “Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana” on Wednesday.

Under this scheme, artists will now receive Rs 2000 per month, a raise from the previous Rs 1200 monthly assistance. Additionally, artists aged above 80 will now receive Rs 2500 per month, as stated in an official press release.

This decision is set to benefit around 80,000 artists across the state, reflecting the Chief Minister’s commitment to supporting the artistic community.

The demand for increased assistance was voiced by artists during the visit of Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T & Nabin Odisha, to various districts. Their organizations also presented their requests during the interactions.

Furthermore, artists raised their concerns during discussions with the 5T Chairman at the Convention Center of Lokseva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, emphasizing the need for higher assistance.

Previously, the scheme provided monthly assistance of Rs 1200 to 50,000 artists. With the scheme’s expansion to encompass 80,000 beneficiaries, an additional 30,000 artists will now benefit from the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana.
