Hot Weather Alert

Meteorological Department has also predicted a heatwave from the state’s interior to coastal areas. The temperature is expected to rise above normal levels.

The Regional Meteorological Department stated that the mercury will rise everywhere, with an increase of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal. The hot weather situation will continue in the state until the 13th of this month.

In districts like Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, Balangir, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonapur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Nayagarh, temperatures are likely to reach 38-40 degrees Celsius.

Difficulty Due to Dryness According to the Meteorological Center, the absence of clouds and increased dryness in the atmosphere will lead to such hot weather conditions in the state. As a result, most districts in the state have been put under red and orange alert marks. However, there is hope for another round of rainfall in the state on the 14th.

Impact of Western Disturbance Due to the influence of a western disturbance, there will be light to moderate rainfall in North Interior Odisha’s Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Jajpur districts. The rainfall is expected to continue until the 16th. The rest of Odisha will remain dry, and after the 16th, the heat will return.
