Anadi Charan Sahu, a former BJP Member of Parliament and retired IPS officer, has passed away at the age of 83 at his residence in CDA Sector-6, the city.
Suffering from age-related ailments, Mr. Sahu breathed his last late on Saturday night. Following his retirement from the police force, he transitioned into active politics and successfully represented the Berhampur Constituency as a BJP candidate in the 1999 Lok Sabha elections.
Mr. Sahu, known for his efficiency as a police officer, had earned both the President’s Police Medal and the Distinguished Service Medal during his career. Beyond his contributions to law enforcement, he was also recognized as a distinguished writer.
His family sources have shared that his final rites will take place at the Sati Chaura cremation ground.
