In Sambalpur district, a whopping sum of 374.17 crores has been sanctioned for the construction of a 2-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at EPC Mode on National Highway 53 (previously National Highway 6) and a 6-lane Flyover stretching 3.5 kilometers in Ainthapali, Sambalpur. This funding approval comes straight from the desk of the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari.

This move is aimed at strengthening the basic infrastructure of roads in Sambalpur district, a step deemed essential for progress. To secure the approval for this crucial funding, the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari.

As per Minister Pradhan, the robustness of India’s roads, including all foundational frameworks, is a part of the ‘Modi Guarantee’. The proposed 6-lane Flyover in Ainthapali, Sambalpur city, will not only alleviate traffic congestion but also enhance the convenience for commuters on National Highway 53 with the construction of the Overbridge, making their travel smoother and safer.

He highlighted that the completion of these two road projects will not only spur industrial growth in the local area but also lead to rapid progress in Odisha’s social and economic development. This is a significant step towards a brighter and more prosperous future for Sambalpur and its residents.
