Police in Rourkela have launched an inquiry into the accommodation arranged for an adult film star at the state-run Circuit House on December 1 last year.

At least three people, including the son of a retired SP-rank officer, were questioned in connection with the booking, officer sources said. They were later released. The inquiry is examining under what circumstances the accommodation was arranged, who recommended it and whether due process was followed.

A nearly five-minute video posted later shows the actor — who has over 300,000 Instagram followers — narrating her journey from Jharsuguda airport to the circuit house. In the clip, she claims to have received special treatment at the government facility, stating, “The owner/CEO of the company is coming himself to receive me in his Audi.”

She also says she was in Rourkela for a film shoot, calling it “the biggest project of my life”, and adds, “As you can see, I am going to stay at the circuit house… So, the people on whose invitation I am here are no small fry.” Police are verifying these claims.

Rourkela Superintendent of Police Nitesh Wadhwani did not respond to calls or messages seeking comment. DIG Brijesh Rai, western range, said no case has been registered yet.

The Circuit House was inaugurated in November last year by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. It came under scrutiny last month after police raids led to the arrest of seven individuals, including Youth BJP leader Prakash Paswan, 35 — a representative of Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram — on charges of sheltering armed criminals. He was later suspended by the BJP.

What triggered the fresh inquiry

The renewed attention stems from a video recorded in December showing the adult film star’s stay at the Circuit House. Her comments about receiving VIP-like treatment and meeting local officials have raised questions about access and protocol at the state-run facility.

Who is being investigated

Police sources said three individuals were questioned, one of them the son of a retired SP-rank officer. A local travel operator who rented out a luxury vehicle for the actor’s transport was also linked to the episode. Investigors are trying to establish whether proper authorization was obtained for the booking.

What happens next

Authorities are awaiting a detailed report from the Panposh sub-collector on booking procedures, recent occupancy and individuals hosted at the Circuit House. Rourkela police have not yet registered a criminal case in this matter.
