Odisha, Getting the state’s third Vande Bharat Express

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation for railway projects worth ₹85,000 crore and inaugurate 10 new Vande Bharat Express trains. Among these, one Vande Bharat Express will operate in Odisha, marking the state’s third Vande Bharat Express. The train will run from Odisha to Visakhapatnam, passing through Khurda, Balugaon, and Brahmapur. It will operate for six days a week, not just limited to Saturdays.

Last year in May, Odisha saw the launch of its first Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Puri and Howrah. The state welcomed its second Vande Bharat Express last September, operating between Puri and Rourkela.

Foundation Stone for ₹85,000 Crore Projects

The foundation stone for railway projects worth ₹85,000 crore will be laid and inaugurated at 764 locations across the country on Tuesday. The Prime Minister will participate in the programs via video conferencing. He will kick off 10 new Vande Bharat trains nationwide and launch the operation of four Vande Bharat trains and other trains.

During this occasion, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate 274 railway projects in Odisha. These projects include 162 electronic interlocking systems, 41 One Stop Product (OSP) stalls, 50 solar energy stations, 5 goods sheds, 9 new doubling and third line projects, 4 automatic signal systems, one speed power terminal, one Jan Aushadhi Kendra (public medicine center), and one rail coach restaurant.
