A Boost to Odisha’s Tech Ecosystem and Job Opportunities

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled Accenture’s Advanced Technology Center in Bhubaneswar, marking a significant step towards enhancing the state’s IT landscape. Accenture, a global professional services company with a massive workforce of over 743,000 globally, including 300,000 in India, is known for its progressive policies and commitment to fostering a culture of equality and learning.

Odisha’s Tech Aspirations

In his address at the inauguration, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik highlighted Odisha’s growth trajectory, propelled by innovation and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He emphasized the state’s role as a hub for entrepreneurship, technological innovation, and new-age businesses, welcoming Accenture’s expertise to further fuel this growth.

Minister’s Praise for Bhubaneswar

Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Sports & Youth Services & Home, commended Bhubaneswar’s rise as a global IT hub under Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s leadership. He lauded Odisha’s visionary policies, making it a leader in the IT domain and paving the way for Accenture’s new Technology center to create more opportunities for the state’s youth.

Accenture’s Commitment

Bhaskar Ghosh, Chief Strategy Officer at Accenture, expressed excitement about launching operations in Odisha, citing the state’s esteemed academic institutions and skilled talent pool. He emphasized the center’s focus on building transformative solutions using cloud, data, AI, including generative AI, reaffirming Accenture’s commitment to expanding its footprint across India.

State’s Investment Potential

Situated at the Odisha Technology Centre, the new Accenture center spans 50,000 sq. ft., designed to accommodate 2,000 professionals in a hybrid work environment. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Principal Secretary of the E&IT Department, Government of Odisha, highlighted the center’s significance, not just as a testament to Accenture’s confidence in Odisha but also as a catalyst for the state’s attractiveness as an investment destination.

Odisha’s IT Growth

The Electronics and IT Department of the Odisha government has been actively attracting major investments in the IT/ITES & ESDM sectors. Recent additions include global giants like IBM, PWC, Deloitte, Concentrix, Infosys BPM, and more, setting up their development and outsourcing centers in the state.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries including VK Pandian, Chairman of 5T Initiatives & Nabin Odisha, Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Sports & Youth Services & Home, Manoj Mishra, Principal Secretary of the Electronics & IT Department, and officials from Accenture.
