Sambalpur will develop a modern inter-state bus terminal on five acres at Ainthapali, with parking for 46 buses, EV charging and a commercial complex, at over Rs 60 crore.
The Odisha government plans to construct a modern inter-state bus terminal in Sambalpur at an estimated cost of over Rs 60 crore, with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared for the facility spanning Ainthapali and Modipada sites. Administrative procedures are currently underway in the project. Principal Secretary of Commerce & Transport N.B.S. Rajput and OSRTC Additional Secretary Sanjay Kumar Biswal visited Sambalpur to inspect the Modipada Bus Terminal and Ainthapali Bus Stand. Discussions focused on constructing the inter-state terminal across approximately five acres of land at Ainthapali, alongside managing Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) bus operations at Modipada. District Collector Siddheshwar Baliram Bondar said, “The Ainthapali Bus Stand site was inspected to develop it into an inter-state bus terminal as it connects Sambalpur with other regions.” He added, “A DPR is being prepared after discussions with stakeholders who shared their opinions. Soon, the work for the bus terminal will begin.”
