Vedanta Aluminium Supports Pulse Polio Drive in Jharsuguda
Vedanta Aluminium partnered with the Jharsuguda District Health Department to support the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign on July 23, 2026.

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, partnered with the Jharsuguda District Health Department to support the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign. Conducted under the Government of India’s nationwide Pulse Polio Programme, the initiative covered 16 booths across the district, successfully immunizing over 1,500 children under the age of five. The campaign aimed to ensure timely vaccination and last-mile healthcare delivery, reinforcing efforts to protect children from the disease.
The campaign involved healthcare personnel, Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers, Anganwadi functionaries, and field volunteers. Vedanta extended logistical support and on-ground coordination to facilitate seamless implementation across the block, bringing together these key stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage.
A monitoring team from the World Health Organization (WHO) visited multiple booths during the drive. The team praised the quality of implementation, adherence to vaccine cold-chain protocols, systematic record-keeping, and effective coordination.
Speaking about the initiative, C Chandru, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda, stated, “Protecting children’s health is essential to building stronger and more resilient communities. Through this partnership, we are supporting the district administration in extending critical preventive healthcare services to every eligible child. The strong participation of families across Jharsuguda reflects the impact of coordinated grassroots mobilisation, and we remain committed to advancing accessible healthcare through meaningful partnerships.”
