Sambalpur Woman Murder: Love Affair Turns Deadly in Kuchinda

The victim, identified as a 24-year-old woman residing in Mahuldiha village under Kusumi outpost, was discovered at the Badrama ghat area along the National Highway-53, a critical artery connecting the region.

The discovery immediately focused attention on a local beauty parlour employee, who had reportedly developed a relationship with the prime suspect, Anil Prusty, a resident of Telikundaposhi. “We received a missing person’s complaint from the victim’s family on Friday,” stated a Kuchinda police spokesperson. “Initially, the investigation was hampered by the suspect’s attempts to mislead us, leading us on a fruitless chase across multiple locations. Authorities swiftly apprehended Anil Prusty, alongside his associate, Ashok Kishan, a Bolero driver hailing from Tilaimati in the Sundargarh district. Ashok Kishan’s vehicle, a Bolero, was subsequently identified as being central to the crime. Investigators believe the woman disappeared on Thursday evening and was subsequently moved to the ghat for disposal by Kishan, using Prusty's direction.

The investigation swiftly escalated, with a scientific team from Sambalpur meticulously collecting forensic evidence at the crime scene. A recreated sequence of events was meticulously constructed by the police, corroborating the account of the disappearance. Initial reports suggest the woman's body was transported to Badrama ghat from another location, utilizing the Bolero vehicle.
