Deogarh: Pradhanpat Waterfall & the Bamra Legacy

Formerly the capital of the Bamra princely state and carved out of Sambalpur in 1994, Deogarh — "Abode of Divinity" — is Western Odisha''s smallest district, best known for waterfalls and forested hills.

Nuakhai, Karamasani, Puo Jintua, Rakshi Bandhan, Janmashtami, Dussehra, Deepavali and Puspuni. Ratha Yatra at Purunagarh, Chandan Yatra at Kalla, Shivaratri at Jhadeswar and Makar Yatra. Utsav Pradhanpat is the district''s flagship annual cultural fair, staged at the foot of the falls.

Food

Local specialities include Dahi Bada, Dahi Aloo, Pakhala Bhata, Machha Ghanta fish curry, Chena Malai and Khaja.

Culture & Crafts

Folk performance traditions include Dalkhai and Sambalpuri forms such as Humo, alongside songs like Rasarkeli, Sajani and Maylajada. Local brews like Handia (rice beer) are part of festive life among the Paudi Bhuyan and other tribal communities.
