Odisha, Odisha — The Janata Dal (United) released a list of 24 leaders as members of the party’s national executive committee, with Nitish Kumar serving as party president.

The JD(U) announced the appointments on 22 April 2026, a day after eight‑time legislator Shrawan Kumar was chosen as legislative party leader. The move was intended to reinforce the party’s leadership and organisational structure ahead of the forthcoming electoral cycle.

The newly constituted committee includes Sanjay Kumar Jha as working president and Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi as vice‑president.
