The single-engine Cessna 172, registered VT-EXP, was en route from Jharsuguda to Rourkela when the pilot declared an emergency due to technical difficulties. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the plane attempt a landing in an open field near Rajgangpur before it skidded off course and crashed into a boundary wall.
